2.1 USINGTHEBRONKHORSTSOFTWAREDONGLE
Aftertheinstallation,theCodeMeterRuntimeKitrunsasa Windowsservice.WhentheBronkhorstSoftwareDongle
(aWibu‐SystemsCodeMeterStickorCmStick)isinsertedintoaUSBport,theruntimewillautomaticallydetectitand
anyapplicationthatrequiresalicenseontheBronkhorstSoftwareDonglewillrunwithoutuserinteraction.
The Code
Meter service can be controlled by the CodeMeter Control Center, which can be started by Start >> (All)
Programs>>CodeMeter>>CodeMeterControlCenter.OncetheControlCenterhasbeenstarted,themainwindow
willappear.
OnlythemainfeaturesoftheCodeMeterControlCenterareimportantfornormaluseandonlythosearedescribed
here.Forinformationofotherfeatures,theCodeMeterControlCenterHelpmaybeused.
2.1.1 PresenceoftheBronkhorstSoftwareDongle
At startup, the License tab is active and shows all connected Bronkhorst Software Dongles. Usually only one
BronkhorstSoftwareDongleispresent.IncasetheBronkhorstSoftwareDongleisshownhere,itiscorrectlydetected
bytheCodeMeterRuntime.IfnoLicenseisshownhere,checkiftheBronkhorstSoftwareDongleisattheUSBportof
thePC.

2.1.2 StoppingandstartingtheCodeMeterService
BeforeBronkhorstsoftwarecanusethelicensesontheBronkhorstSoftware
Dongle, the CodeMeter Service needs to be started. By default, the service
starts automatically with Windows, but it may be stopped and started
manually.Tobesuretheserviceisrunning,opentheProcessmenuandseeifStartCodeMeterServi
ceisgrayedout.
Theservice may be stoppedby Process >> StopCodeMeterService,whereasit maybe started byStart CodeMeter
Service.
